With the arrival of January and the beginning of a new year, there is often a pressure to establish ambitious New Year's resolutions. Personally, I always felt compelled to set goals and kick off the year with vigor! However, could it be that this isn't the best time for such commitments? Numerous cultures and communities view winter as a period for rest, deceleration, and rejuvenation—a time to embrace mindfulness and self-love.
The Wisdom of Winter
Nature itself provides a beautiful example of the wisdom of slowing down. Trees strip down
as the last of their leaves are shed, animals hibernate, and the world seems to pause at the end of a long exhale. This winter let this natural rhythm invite us to do the same. Instead of rushing into new goals, and resolutions, let's reflect on the year we've left behind, recharge, renew, and prepare ourselves for the growth that spring will bring.
Mindfulness and Self-Love Practices
During these colder months, consider incorporating mindfulness practices into your daily routine. Simple activities like meditation, gentle yoga, or journaling can help you connect with your inner self.
Consider one of the following classes during the cold winter months:
This class is offered Online Mondays at 8:30am EST
This 45min class is a wonderful way to start off the week!
This class is offered In Person Wednesdays at noon EST at Black Rock Center for the arts.
OR

Both of these 60min classes invite us to move mindfully and gently, throughout the week!
This class is offered Online Thursdays at 8:30am EST
Note: this class will be changing to Monday nights at 7:30pm starting in February!
This 60min class invites us to hold gentle poses with the support of props like cushions, blocks and blankets, creating a restorative space for healing and renewal, we finish the practice with sound healing!
Showing up for yourself on a weekly basis is a way of practicing Self-love. Combined with taking time this winter to pamper yourself, through a warm bath, reading a good book, or simply enjoying a quiet moment with a cup of tea. Remember, self-care is not a luxury—it's a necessity.
Yoga and mindfulness offer grounding practices to help you stay present and find peace.
Enjoy this recorded class, find a corner of your home to roll out your mat and press play!
This year commit to finding moments of stillness for yourself—move into 2025 with greater clarity and calm. Invite yourself to the mat and let the practice guide you.
Take moments throughout your day to pause and ground yourself. Whether it’s through movement, breath, or simply observing the world around you, these practices can help you stay balanced and focused.
Connecting our personal development with the earth's natural cycles can create a more balanced and satisfying life. This winter, I invite you to join me either online or in person, where our classes and community will support your mindfulness and self-love journey.
With Love, Francia
