Planet earth has been left with the tap running

Todays' tip is on water conservation

Did you know that Animal Agriculture is responsible for nearly half of all water consumption in the United States? That’s HUGE compared to the 5% used domestically. Environmentalists will suggest eco-friendly toilets and shower heads or even taking shorter or less showers, not watering your lawn and not letting the water run while you brush your teeth; but all of that still only amounts to only 5% of all water consumption in the United States.

The USGS (United States Geological Survey) estimates that it takes 4,000 to 18,000 gallons of water to produce a single hamburger, depending on conditions that cows are raised in.

So, is being vegan good for the planet? Conservatively speaking you’d save more water by NOT eating one pound of meat than you would by not showering for 6 months!

Raising Animals is responsible for 55% of water consumption in USA

Eating just one hamburger = 2 months’ worth of showers!
Consuming 1lb of hamburger meat = 6 months' worth of showers!
